Text Box: Coach Jones:  email address:  joneslw@pickens.k12.sc.us  Website information: www.sciencebyjones.com  New Additions: 1) infield conditioning is being done this week 2) Fence caps and protective tarps purchased by the Booster Club 3) New varsity uniforms 4) New batting helmets 5) 2 new bats 6) Defensive rebound screen 7) Wheeler Dealer soft toss machine 8) Jugs hitting screen 9) Pitching screen 10) Hitting tees Text Box:    Tryouts for this year’s teams will begin on January 24th.  We will meet on the field (weather permitting) and in the gym lobby if its raining.  To be able to tryout each athlete must have on file a current physical dated after April 1st,  2004 clearing you to play and a signed parent’s permission form.  Athletes that have never played at Daniel before will need to bring their birth certificates as well.    Athletes participating in basketball at Daniel or Edwards will tryout when their season ends.  So, final cuts may be made after we have played several scrimmages and games. Text Box:    Parent/Player meeting on January 19th at 6:00.  We will meet in the Library here at Daniel and answer any question you may have about tryouts, the team schedule, etc.  This meeting is really more for new players to our program but returning players and their parents are welcome.  If you need directions to the library contact Coach Jones.
