 Chemical and Physical Properties

    Students will be given six white chemical compounds (see below) in labeled containers.  They must perform a range of test on each powder (excluding heating of NaOH).  After they collect all the data they are given the six compounds in coded containers (as unknowns).  They must correctly identify the six given only two tries.  After the unknowns are identified a lab test on the sheet of information is given. A new addition this year is that one or more of the unknowns will be a new substance.  While these may not be identified as to substance they can be identified as new substances.
